Black and White Photography

Hey everybody how are you doing today?  I was recently out taking picture for this college course I am doing and I was using black and white film, so I could get used to what they might look like I started using my digital. The results I got were amazing to say the least! Up to this point in my photography I have been taking my pictures in colour and I have loved it but since I have started this course in Griffith College Dublin I have really come to appreciate black and white.
Here are 2 pictures that I have taken in the last couple of days that I have compared. These pictures are not identical but have a similar subject, that subject is the old power station in Dublin bay.  And here are those pictures now; first we have the colour one with its blues and greens in abundance!

And then we have the black and white with all its lovely spread of black and white tones. With the B+W I get the feeling that maybe I should print this one up and sell it… but then I think about the colour picture, in this instance  the colour picture is not that great to me it lacks that great sting, that invite to come and look at me.

For now I will leave you with this thought of will I go B+W or colour!

So until next time we meet good luck
