People and life

Hey all how are you?
Up to recently I have been not really able to talk to people and tell them my feelings but since Christmas i ave had to face people more and more, especially because of my work in college has been aimed at the portrait beginings and i have to say that i loved it. Some of the work is quite cool if i say so myself, some of it was my first time in the studio:

These few shots are quite well worked by by opinion now I will say that they could do with work  like the one directly above  is a little dark in the foreground.

These are pictures i have taken of some of friends and family i am really thankful that they helped me out with this project otherwise i might not have been able to finish this year in college. Yay to friends and family without them i would not have survived this year and especially to the certain people who i want to remain friends with forever.

Life

Hey Everyone,
How are you doing? it has been sometime since my last post on this blog  as I  have been focusing on my college work and so I am going to show you what i have been creating for college and outside of it.
This was a project i done in my second semester of college it was a way for us to learn to bring out a story in our pictures or in other words show a relationship between the pictures.
For instance can you see the connection between the pictures above it may be obvious but if its not i will tell you at the end of the post....

The main idea i got from this project was for us to learn to tell stories through our picture but also to tell ourselves to ask for help and to push us outside our safe zones. And now for the answer to the earlier question. It was art even though there is a painting in each it is in my opinion that art of life that binds these pictures together but not just those 2 but all the pictures in this project. And so until next time good luck and please give me your opinions.

Work From College

Hey all,
How is everybody doing? Having fun i hope. Anyway i have some pictures to show you today from the work i have being doing in the studio this semester, there is some portrait work and some still life i have been practising. It's only a small bit but i am happy with it.
This picture was quite easy to set up and quite fun
For the bottle we put a light behind the bottle  so it would look kind of natural

These 2 pictures are 2 different stages of the final picture below oddly enough i like  the top one with the blue and red
This is the final image we got on the day. i believe it came out quite well having gone through alot of work for this. All picture in this blog were taken with the help of 3 of my fellow students. Until next time good luck

Possessions

Hey all,
How are you doing this week? Having fun i hope. today i would like to show you some of the research i have been doing for a project i am doing in college. The name of the project is Possessions, this means i have to show the world peoples possessions it may sound simple but it is not. In the photographers i have here today i can show you what other people have done with this subject and in the next couple of months i can show you what i will have done with the subject Possessions.

These few pictures show what Jean Revillard has done with this subject. he kinda went towards having little or no possessions and living in a forest or public space.

For these images Carlo Gianferro went and photographed some Roma gypsies to see what they like to show off and too see what they have. Personally i like these couple of images  as it shows people are not afraid to show off who they are and what they collect.

These images were shot by Martin Parr. They are quiet simple but yet show off what the person likes or what they cherish the most. Life is all about collecting possessions and memories and showing them off to the world. This is a small collection of my research for college. I like this work as i like to learn new things. so til next time good luck.

Portfolio Part 2

Hey all,
Hows things its been a while so here is another piece of  my portfolio something for you to mull over. Anyway the piece of my portfolio i am going to show you today is the abstract folder alot of the stuff in here is things i have done since i have started college.

This here is a great image and so easily taken, it shows the Samuel Beckett bridge and the conference centre on the Liffey in Dublin city.

I believe these few images taken in a night club in Dublin are quiet good and show you can get quite good images even when out for a good time.

These few images where images i have from an experiment i have done in the last few weeks  i got the different lights and colours by using the lights from my bicycle and i got some quite interesting results.

The last few images are from a sunset shoot in January, now i am not going to tell you how i shot them but i would like you to guess. its all up to you if you want to reply. Any comments on this collection of images would be appreciated, All Photos in this Blog Post are Copyright Paul Shannon

Portfolio

Hey all,
How are you doing? Over the next couple of months i will show you the portfolio i have built up so far. Today i am going to show you my sunset and sunrise collection, some of the pictures in here are only a few weeks old but others are over 3yrs old so here it is my lovely collection!

This one to me is quiet striking

The five suns is another of the favourites, when i show this to other people they tend to just tend to stand watch it like it just does not end

There have been times in the last few years where i have been driving down the road and i turn a corner or look behind me to see these great pictures sitting there on the horizon just waiting for me to take the picture and i suddenly have no camera. So anyway i hope you will enjoy this lovely collection as much as i have. All pictures in this blog post are Copyright Paul Shannon.
